McCarter Brothers compete in night one of King of the Mountain Championship

Friday night found both Mack and Pierce McCarter in action at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the King of the Mountain Championship. Drawing 34 Southern All Star Series entries, Mack recorded the 11th fastest time in his qualifying group, sending him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Locking the Top 6 into the show, McCarter failed to complete a lap in the 8-lap consolation event.

For the American Crate All-Star Series sanctioned program, Pierce came in 22nd fastest overall before placing fifth in his heat race. Needing a second place finish or better in his B-Main to make the $2,000-to-win A-Main, McCarter fell short with a seventh place outing.
