Jensen eighth at Wythe Raceway with Southern Nationals Series
On Friday afternoon, Jensen Ford traveled North to Beckley Motor Speedway (Beckley, W.Va.) for the first round of the Schaeffer's Oil Southern Nationals.
With heavy rains causing unfavorable track conditions as well as pushing the event back several hours, Ford and the McCarter Brothers Racing team decided to save their equipment and load up for the evening.
Saturday's event at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) was postponed to Sunday.
With 23 Late Models returning to Wythe for it's rescheduled date, Jensen followed up the fourth-quickest lap in qualifying with a runner-up finish in his heat race. With $10,053 on the line, Jensen fell back early but rallied to remain inside the Top-10 and record an eighth-place finish.
