Mack McCarter returns to the driver's seat at I-75 and Tazewell with Spring Nationals

After a two month hiatus, Mack McCarter returned to the racetrack on Friday afternoon and piloted the No. 51 machine at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) with the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals.

Finishing fifth in his heat race, McCarter transferred to the 53-lap main event through a B-Main with a runner-up finish. In his first feature back, Mack was an early retiree and recorded a 20th-place finish.

Hoping to find more speed at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Saturday, Mack started the $21,000-to-win feature from the 12th-starting position and finished 14th after 75-laps.

Full results from the weekend can be found at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com/spring_index.html.
