McCarter brothers attend Sunshine Nationals; Pierce grabs 602 Late Model victory
Losing Thursday's opening night to cold and wet weather, Pierce and Mack McCarter rolled into Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Friday afternoon to kick off the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals.
Mack competed in the 604 Late Model ranks with Crate Racin' USA where he would start on the front-row of a semi-feature. McCarter ran inside the Top-5 before a wreck on a restart ended his weekend early.
Pierce found much better luck in the 602 Late Model division as he drove to a semi-feature victory on Friday evening over Bubba Roling and Dawson Love.
For Saturday's finale, Pierce missed his mark in qualifying which relegated him to a B-Main where he snuck into a transfer position. In the 20-lap feature, McCarter stormed forward to record a Top-10 finish in ninth.
